The Virginia Music Educators Association hosts a multi-day conference every year for educators in the state to come together, discussing the latest movements in the industry and how we can better support students and each other.

At this year's VMEA conference, it was my honor to bring one of my greatest passions to life alongside Dr. Kathy Mulcahy - the wellness room.

Wellness rooms are designated quiet spaces in high-pressure environments (think work, school, or corporate settings) set aside for individuals to retreat, relax, and reset. It offers an intentional break from the demands of the day, allowing employees, students, event attendees, service members, or even auditioning performers to pause and check in on their mental health.

My goal at VMEA was to give conference attendees the opportunity to decompress throughout the event. I co-hosted two wellness rooms where each offered the chance to acknowledge and celebrate gratitude. We even had pre-conference sunrise yoga and sound healing! Take a look at the gallery below.

Would you like me to curate a wellness room for your next event or permanent space? Get in touch.
